绿岸县位于北江省低丘地带,距 Hanoi 东北约 60 公里。这里地形由红黏土坡地、红壤土和适中海拔拼接而成——地势并不险峻,但这种组合排水良好,蓄热能力也是平原三角洲地带无法比拟的。土壤略呈酸性,恰好是荔枝树偏爱的生长环境。当地农民会告诉你,同一品种移植到湄公河三角洲后,果实水分更高、果肉更薄——同样的品种,结果却大相径庭。

一颗正宗绿岸荔枝的果肉紧实,近乎透明的白色,甜度浓郁,带有淡淡的花香酸味。果核细小——这是品质的标志,果核偏大通常意味着树木受过胁迫,或果实采摘时尚未完全成熟。外皮一剥即落,干净利落。绿岸季节前后大量涌入市场的中国进口荔枝,个头更大、果肉色泽偏淡,口感之平淡相比之下显而易见。
采收期大约从五月下旬持续到六月下旬,高峰成熟期通常落在六月的第二、三周。具体日期会因三四月份的降雨和气温而前后浮动一两周,若专程为荔枝而来,五月中旬关注当地新闻很有必要。
早季果实(五月下旬)口感略酸,价格偏高,因为供应有限、买家踊跃。到六月中旬,果园进入全面丰产期,价格下降,北江市以北沿一号公路的路边摊上,红色荔枝篮堆积如山。六月下旬的果实最甜,但较软,不耐运输,当地人都尽快吃完。
高峰季在产地购买一公斤新鲜绿岸荔枝,价格约为 25,000–45,000 越南盾,视品级而定。同期在 Hanoi 市场则为 60,000–80,000 越南盾/公斤。即便如此,对于这样品质的水果而言,并不算贵。

北江省通常在六月上中旬举办"糯荔"丰收节,时间与生产高峰同步。活动以绿岸镇为核心,设有果园参观、直购摊位、烹饪展示及出口推介活动(该省目前通过冷链物流向日本、澳大利亚及欧盟大量出口)。这是一场规模不大的地方性集会,而非重要文化盛事,但对于本就在当地的游客来说,不失为一个择时而访的好理由。具体日期每年有所变动,建议向北江省旅游部门咨询。
若恰逢 Tet Doan Ngo(农历五月初五,通常在六月下旬),请留意荔枝是这一节日的传统供品之一。北方各地市场当周需求骤增,可能短暂推高 Hanoi 的荔枝价格。
